feul pump

im dropping a 1974 350 into my 87 camaro. my in tank fuel pump on my camaro is broken so i plan to use the mechanical pump that came with the 74 motor. my question is if this pump has been sitting is it still good or should i give up the cash for a new one? thanks

Axle/Gears: 3.42 open/2.73 open/ 3.27 9 bolt
You need to pull the sending unit out and get rid of the electric pump if you are not using it. You can substitute some 3/8 hose in it's place or use a factory carburetor sending unit. (I found that out on this site a while ago)

You can't go wrong with a new fuel pump, in my opinion. I have had too many diaphragms rot from sitting and fill my oil pan with gasoline to trust an old one.
