Hey guys I've been searching all over TGO for a thread some one made about their swapping out their v6 for an lt1 but i can't seam to find it and I'm getting tired I've searched all yesterday and all day today and i can't find nothing all i want to know is "Can the LT1 bolt right up to the old mounts without welding or buying something new?" i wanna know if anyone has done it before too so please help me out I'm only 17 and my parents don't know about this engine thats in the garage and I'm going to UTI in September and would like to have it in by then. Cause the homecoming party is at one of the local tracks and its free drag racing all day and i don't feel like being beat by the **** box civics.
I would like to be known in my home town too cause all the import tuners are talking **** about my car.
Oh the LT1 has 350 HP 495 LBS of Torq

No, it won't bolt up to the V6 mounts. You will have to purchase V8 frame mounts, move them to the front set of holes in the k-member and use a set of V8 clamshells.

Will the rest of the car handle that kind of HP?

It's all the same, shocks and struts are the same between the two cars. Fuel pump will have to be changed to at least a TPI pump. I used a LT1 radiator/fan setup so I can't say about that. Computer will be the LT1 computer, basically, the old V6 ECM, engine wiring, motor and tranny will come out, LT1 motor, tranny, PCM and engine wiring will go in.

You also have to change the front brake lines as they are in the way of the motor mounts.

How much are the V8 mounts and clamshells? Oh whats with the maf and vat stuff that seams like its giving everyone problems when they do this swap? And i"m probably gonna put in a A/C delete kit in there as well (My A/C is the windows). How much wiring is there to be done? Whats the deal with the resister in the key, will that affect anything to do with the wiring?

Is it just the brake lines or does the whole master cylinder and booster have to be changed?

Hey guys thanks so much for your time and help. Hopefully my parents won't kill me for doing this. I think they might think I'm power hungry mostly because i do have a lead foot and they know i do. But i really do hope they think of it as a learning experience for me.

Just the metal lines that go across.

If you're careful, you can rebend the line so it is out of the way of the engine mounts. That's what I did with mine, I doubt the metric lines would have a problem (mine is SAE).
