1990 v6 bird 357 swap (starter/ignition problem)
i just need too know how many wires/what wires go to the starter...
i have a small blue, and the large red (power from +) hooked up right now, but i cant seem to get it to start with the key inside...
anything else need to be hooked up? i dont know what the blue wire is, i think it leads inside the car some where...
im trying to fix someone elses wiring mistakes, so it makes this kinda frustrating and challenging....

There are a couple of wires that are spliced together in a large eye terminal that go on with the battery cable at the starter. Not sure of the color, but I think at least one is red (might be different on yours).

Have you hooked up that battery yet? Without the wires I mentioned, you won't have any power to the rest of the car.
You can start it without a shifter if you short the neutral safety switch wires. Be very, very sure the thing is out of gear if you do that.

ok i shot some pics last night... maybe this will help you guys understand what im looking at here...
key on

key turned in cranking position

underdash what is this?

does this have any importance?

i was trying to show that on the floor by the kicker panel, the two yellow wires were snipped

blue wire had a white wire spliced into it?

didnt even see a NSS (What color are those wires?)

Have you considered going to the junkyard and getting an unmolested harness?

no, the reason being, this car ran with the same harness and same motor previous to the motor and trans being removed for rebuilds... so im just trying to go through everything...
i guess this is one of those things i gotta figure out myself... its hard for people to respond to such a general problem... ill figure it out like i have before and post up my findings.... thanks guys... still feel free to post some comments/advice...
