Re: pulling motor need help
its simpler to remove them together. with a good engine hoist you can get it all out without taking off the front clip.

Re: pulling motor need help
i pulled a 305 with t-5 connected to it using a 10 ft. vertical A-frame lift with a 2 ton chain-fall. only had to remove the radiator and a/c condenser. A friend/helper is VERY helpful in the process no matter what.

definately pull the engine/tranny together. its a big pain in the *** to remove the tranny if you dont have a lift to put the car on.

I am also getting ready to pull my engine out and give it a once over. Have never done this before but ready for the experience. Hope its not too much of a headache.

Re: pulling motor need help
I did mine together without issue. I was by no means experienced and it was really quite easy.

Like everyone else said take them both out together. A good hoist plus someone to help you will make the process much quicker and easier.

Re: pulling motor need help
Definitely pull them together. I would HIGHLY recommend having a friend help because a lot of things will bind up on the way out. You will also want the front of the car to be jacked up (need it anyways to disconnect everything under the car), otherwise the tailshaft of the trans will hit the ground and prevent the engine from "tilting" out as you lift. You shouldn't have to remove anything off of the front of the engine since the V6 is short.
