Im trying to figure out if a '81 small block chevy would interchange easily with my '90 305 with a 700r4... would my trans and flywheel change over no problem or what else would I be looking to buy? Complete motor without carb is 600 supposedly rebuilt and good to go... wasnt quite sure on this i dont have any casting numbers of it yet... any advice would be helpful thanks

Re: motor swap
You would need a new flywheel, the one for your 1 piece rear main won't fit the older 2 piece rear man. The dipstick on the older block will be on the driver side as well.

On an '81 block, the dipstick should be on the passenger side.
