Help me out please.
Help me out please.
ok so i put in a 350 to replace my 305 and im finishing up the final hooking up of stuff and i come to this. i dont know what this is or what it does i dont want it in there it was mounted oposite th battery and has a line going to the fuel tank what is running thruogh this line. the other hookup on it was run to the old Q-jet that i ditched. can i just block this off or what?
another little favor is could someone please take a close up pic of how the cable attach to a holley carb?
and what does the hose do that runs from the (big round thing behind where the brake fluid goes) to the back of the carburetor and do i need that?
thanks for all your help and sorry if these are stupid questions.

That is the charcoal vapor canister. It collects gasoline vapors from the fuel tank and carb fuel bowl while the engine isn't running so they aren't released into the air. When the engine is running, the vapors are pulled into the intake air stream to be burned. It also provides a vent to those two as fuel is consumed.
Your Holley won't have the fuel bowl connection to it. If you block off the line to the fuel tank, you will have to get a vented gas cap so you don't create a vacuum in the fuel tank.
Do you have an automatic or manual transmission? If automatic, you will need a bracket that bolts onto the throttle arm of the carb so the geometry of the throttle valve (TV) cable is correct. There are studs available to connect the throttle cable to the throttle arm.
The big hose behind the brake master cylinder is the vacuum supply for the power brake booster. It is critical to have that hooked up for proper brake function.
