ok i just bought a 1982 v6 firebird that has a computer controlled carb. i will be dropping a 350 in it and know i have to put new srings in it, motor mounts, etc. but what exactly do i need to do for the computer? do i need to rewire everything or what? and yes i already read for 2 hours and cant find anything.

 

if you hvae to have all the emissions stuff for inspection or testing then youll have to get the harness and ecm from a v-8 car,

and the E4ME carb and computer advance controlled distributor also

the carb and distrib can come from virtually any '80 and up chevy v-8 engine that was 4bbl EST/CCC

and youll need other things from a donor 82-up carb v-8 F body such as throttle bracket and exhaust and radiator and fan/shroud and so on

if you dont have emisisons inspections or anything there then you wont need the ecm and harness or E4ME or ECM advance controlled distributor

its 25 years old say hello to classic tags, so no emissions, i dont know if im asking this quite right, what connections will have to be rewired for the motor and it will have a carb on it, not computer controlled bs. hei distributor.
