2.9 V6 MPFI to 355 Carb'd Engine
2.9 V6 MPFI to 355 Carb'd Engine
I hae an 87' Camaro that originally came with the 2.8 V6/5-Speed transmission. My motor had blew a rod and i got a good deal on a 450hp dirt track/oval race motor for $700 ($3500 into the motor), the motor will have a 4bbl carb on it.
My quesions are what can i reuse from the original V6? Like can i reuse the fuel pump? 5-speed? Power steering pump? radiator? suspension?

Power steering pump but not the brackets, pulley, or hoses. Suspension if you really lighten up the front end (like remove AC, PS, move battery to trunk). T5 if you enjoy special adaptation and breaking things. Fuel pump if you like running out of fuel under power. Radiator would require really long hoses and would be too small to keep the engine cool if run for more than a few minutes.
Perchance did you read the V6 to V8 sticky in the top section of this forum?
