Car dies. help help.

Past week, i was driving my firebird 2.9 MPFI, and the Idle started to go Up and down then it died. I Noticed that the distributer was lose cause I could move the timing, so I put it in a time where It ran. real bad but ran. so I drove it that way acouple of blocks to the shop, the guys on the shop ajusted the timing. and told me It was ready. I drove it a a few blocks and it died. I took it back to the shop and they told me it was teh gas pump they replaced with a need one and ytold me it was ready.I drove it again a cople of blocks and it did the same thing it died after the idle went up and down. I took it again to the shop and told me the problem was the ignition coil and the distributor rotor so they replaced both. I went today to the shop and the car does the same thing, now they are telling me that I had to replace the whole distributor. i feel that this guys are guessing. the car was runing rel good before all this happened. Could it be that the distributor got damage for driving car in a bad timing??? Help Guys I runing out of money and I really need the car.

Re: Car dies. help help.

You need to figure out what causing it to die. When its acting up check for spark, fuel pressure, & injector pulse.
Have the mechanics drive it till it dies.
