Out with the 305, In with the 350

My mechanic pulled the old engine out last night, so I took some pix this morning. This week he will put in the 350.

Are you not keeping the computer controlled carb and ignition?

Re: Out with the 305, In with the 350

Brett (the mechanic) is going to swap the original carb & dizzy over. I had the carby rebuilt last year before I found out the engine had a cracked head. So this year I bought a reco 350 to put in & it already had all the stuff on it. Brett is gonna use whatever bits off both that will make it work.

Good choice. You'll like it.

Kind of weird to see the steering column on the right side of the car. How do the brakes work, since the master cylinder is still on the left side?

The brakes are cross shafted, still work fine. The conversion is still a bit of a mystery to me too. Finding out more the longer I own it.

Wow, 7 months and it's still not running. That's as bad as some of my projects. . .

Re: Out with the 305, In with the 350

My car is finally home! Got no pix yet as it is late & it is dirty as.
Can anyone tell me how to tune/set/whatever the EST? Got some notes sent through but can find the plug/port to do it.

Re: Out with the 305, In with the 350

Can anyone tell me how to set the base timing on the electronic spark control? Got the car running good enough to drive it but still needs to be tuned properly.
Here are some pix of it on ANZAC Day.
