V6 to V8 engine swap

i have a 92 rs with a v6 and im trying to swap in an 88 iroz 350 with tpi. im having difficulty with the wiring harness and i was wondering if it would just be easier to buy a new harness. i have the old one off of the 88, but the pins dont match and its in kind of rough shape.

is there a factory wiring harness i could buy that would match with the one inside the car, or am i going to have to get one of those as well? im also curious as to what other problems i might run into as well.

Re: V6 to V8 engine swap

The easiest thing to do would be to find a wiring harness from a TPI car. Going from a V6 to V8 EFI car I would think would be about impossible. You have more injectors, the sensor's are in different places.

You can buy a harness from painless or somewhere like that but would be just as good to watch the for sale board and get a harness from a wrecked car or someone who is going to carb. Good luck.

Re: V6 to V8 engine swap

ok thanks. should i get one for an 88 TPI car since all the TPI stuff i got was from an 88 even though the car i have now is a 92? I was curious what i was going to have to go with the interior wiring harness too. Am i going to have to switch that one out too, or can i just switch the pins on the connects to match that of an 88?
