no, unless you are running a very high induction system.

Re: will i need a new hod

Are you planning on staying with fuel injection or converting to a carbed 350? I was wondering the same when I swapped a 350 but I found out how to get around.

Re: will i need a new hod

In order to shut the hood, a drop-base air filter was required in my case.

Re: will i need a new hod

I have an edelbrock performer rpm, and a holley 600 vs, and the stock TBI air cleaner, I'm hoping that will make it, otherwise back to the drawing board

Oh and sorry for stealing your thread thebird91

If money isnt too tight, I would suggest getting an edelbrock carb. Getting the carb allows you to not need the unnecessary spacer from edelbrock to holley. Edelbrock, (like said earlier) does indeed make an air cleaner for hood clearance! The part number is 1206 I believe, drops 1.5' below carb

To answer an earlier question, yes without the low profile air cleaner I would have needed another hood

Not sure how you come up with that, since both the Performer and typical Holley are squarebore. The originator hasn't come back, but the typical Performer-type stock replacement intake manifold has the mounting provision for either the squarebore Holley/Edelbrock, or spreadbore q-jet.

For me, money is always too tight to get an Edelbrock carb. It's also too tight to get a vacuum secondary Holley.

Hmmm, I have tried to bolt up Edelbrock to Holley and bolt holes for me didnt seem to line up correctly.
