350 to 700r4 from a v6 3.1
ok so this is what i got... a v6 and a 700r4 tranny. the v6 is tired and old and is dying or possibly dead (on the the side of the road). I called this guy about a 350 bored .30 over, i just want to know if the transmission in there will fit the 350. Im still new to this site and working on engines, but not body work so any and all help is appreciated.

the bell housing is smaller on a v6 and wont bolt to a v8. luckily a 700r4 for a v8 is easy to find at a junkyard.

You can use pretty much any V8 or 4.3 V6 700r4 from any car or truck except the corvette. You just have to put your tailshaft housing back on your new tranny so that you can bolt on your torque arm.
