Re: Chrysler V-10 Swap??
If thats what you wanna do Im sure you can make it fit. As far as reliabilty I dont really know tho. I sell a fair amount of parts for the viper and truck versions, mainly valves and bearings. I think it would be cooler in a dakota or some kinda mopar. I would honestly just sell it or trade it for a lsx or a BBC or 383.

Insane! Hope you've got a lot of $$$ to put into the chassis so she doesn't turn into a pretzel.

Well that might be a first in Third Gen circles. I've never heard of that swap before! If you do it God bless you on your journey.
P.S. You better get a really BFH to shoehorn it in...LOL!

Red Sox? Boston? Hell that's 100 miles from me! Who said lightning never strikes the same place twice?...LMFAO! GO PATS!!!! Goodbye Colts! Anyway how much did you pay for that V10? and how in God's name did you score that engine? I'd sell it and use the $$ to build a nasty LSX!

Re: Chrysler V-10 Swap??
I horse traded for a 1979 2dr Malibu ( The UGLIEST car ever made!!) with a GM "black" 350 crate engine ,with less than 30K on it..... for that motor ...and trainee!!
----------
I would actually LOVE to drop in a dual quad+++ 454 chevy BB!! But, my deal for that motor fell thru!! I love the 92 body style and to have only 4 or 5 wires comin thru the firewall to a real motor...What FUN!! I HATE computerized cars!!!!

Re: Chrysler V-10 Swap??
It is basically a 360 Magnum with two extra cylinders.
You will need an A518 tranny, The V10 ECM, and a lot of patience. Imagine your engine with two more cylinders in the front. Tight fit doesn't begin to describe where you will be. It should use the same motor mounts as a 5.9 so if you have the uppers and lowers you can use a flat plate to relocate your mounts to the frame.
I would seriously measure the distance from the back of the bellhousing to the tip of the farthest front piece on the engine. Next, measure the distance from your V8 to the radiator. The difference is what you have. It won't be much.
The width shouldn't be a problem.
MEASURE FIRST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Then there is the custom driveshaft and aftermarket crossmember. That will be a piece of cake compared to where you're heading...

Re: Chrysler V-10 Swap??
Dual Quad Big Block!!!! Sounds like fun!!! Computers are great for mileage, but I guess that's not in the plans...LOL!
I've got to disagree on the Malibu. They can look pretty nice with the right stance. I had one, 1979 Lt. Blue w/ an all black interior, '79 Z-28 Hurricane rims, and a some leftover 70-72 SS trim on the fenders and interior door panels, an 82-92 basic Firebird spoiler, and blacked out grille and trim. Had to part her out after the build b'cuz the damn registry lost my paperwork and denied that I had ever submitted it. Then after the car was already stripped and scrapped, it suddenly showed up in the mail. Murphy's Law at work. By far, the ugliest would have to be the Volkswagon "Thing" aka the Kubelwagon in WWII. Watch a few old war flicks and you'll see 'em getting blown up...LOL.

Re: Chrysler V-10 Swap??
I got news though, if this is a CAST IRON TRUCK block, FORGET it. The damn engine and trans weighs almost as much as a Cummins 6BT and trans. The engine alone is 835 lbs. A 6BT is only 905 lbs. Your front suspension will not handle the weight. Even if you could squeeze it in, the length of the engine would require that you cut into the firewall, to fit a large-enough radiator to cool the beast.
Finally, I own a 1994 Dodge 2500 truck with the V10. The truck feels and drives like it is FRONT heavy with the V10 and it is a 2500 chassis. The weight of the V10 and transmission will make your car handle terribly and probably bottem out the suspension. Stock, the engine wasn't even all the powerful. It only made 300 FWHP @ 4,400 from 488 CID. It did make 475 TQ @ 2,800 though. All that torque is going to do, is make tire smoke and go no-where.
At the end of the day, find yourself a LSx or Big Block and be done with it.
The 5.3 truck engine is plentiful as dirt now and makes 285-315 HP.

Re: Chrysler V-10 Swap??
morpar does sell the viper V10 block, the problem is length. engine is too long. i've heard of people doing this swap, but everyone of them get second thoughts. the engines aren't hard to find on ebay. good luck!
