I have acquired a 425 super rocket, the ultra high compression 10.25:1, a dual pattern rebuilt th350, b&m kit, and also a shift kit. I'd like to put in a 1989 firebird 2.8 that has found its way to me. I'm new to the site so show me what this sight is all about. I've got faith in you guys. SO PLEASE HELP.... The main "off brand" that is swapped into 3rd gens is Pontiac. But, people have shoehorned Buicks in, and probably Olds. Search this forum for "olds" and "oldsmobile", see what comes up.

FWIW, 365 "1965" horses is about 290 or so 70's, 80's, 90's, etc., HP. In other words, less than a stock LS1.

BOP all the same is it not? If so just follow the pontiac swap and do the same, that 425 might not have the HP the LS1 does but I bet it is a torque monster! Interesting swap glad to see people doing something different keep us posted on progress. Oh and pics too!

 

The bellhousing pattern is the same, but nothing else is.
