305 to 350 belts problem

305 to 350 belts problem

hey ummmm, i feel dumb but i have three belts one small (i think for smog pump) a medium and a large belt.... now i had a 305 and swapped in a 350 off a 70's yr car. its main pulley has 3 like my 305 but the first one is bigger... when i took all the belts off my 305 the first pulley on the crank pulleys wasnt in use.. can someone tell me how to put my belts back on.. or do i need to put the pulley from my 305 on my 350? i think i just cant figure out the order of the damn belts????????????

Use the pulleys that came with the accessories you're using, not the engine. I.e., the ones that came in the car.

Engine CID is not a material issue.

Innermost belt goes on PS and crank; next one goes on crank, PS, & AC; next one goes on crank, WP, & alt; topmost one goes on WP and AIR pump.

I couldn't say about 305 and 350. That's not the operative concept here. Car / not car is the issue.

Put the pulleys back in the car, that came in the car. Put the pulleys that came from some other car, in your junk bin. That's all there is to it. Whatever size motor, it doesn't matter.

Too simple.
