13:1? What fuel do you plan on putting through it? The camshaft is way to small for that much compression.

Re: hp estimate plz

ive read nothing but bad news on those erson cams as well plus the grind on that cam is for street driving.. do youself a favor and put something that can handle that muhc and produce to compliment it.. comps 280h "magnum" would work well with that set up

Re: hp estimate plz

oh .. err well if thats the case finish your engine (with a decent cam and tranny behind it and decent rear gears id give you around 400hp to the wheels)

but go look around at teh other 383 posts.. and look for my comments on them.. suspension is the first thing u need to worry about or youll tear your car apart. i have siad it a few times around here l8ely you shouldt have a problem finding it

Re: hp estimate plz

haha i know about the suspension the only thing i need now are the lcas and panhard rod. i fabbed up my own sub frame connectors similar to the umi ones but they r full bolt in so it ties in to the trans crossmember. and i got the steering brace/front frame support, and strut tower brace. so im pretty set up and thanks for all the help its appreciated. from what i have right now what would you upgrade to get a few more poneys

Re: hp estimate plz

you need more duration to bleed off some pressure. higher compression will generate alot of cylinder pressure if you dont bleed some off with more duration and overlap.

i'm not to familar with flat tappet cams, i'm a roller guy, but something in them mid 240's duration range would be nice. And as much lift as you can get since your heads probly peak flow in the .500-.600 range. Still have to run a high octane gas...race gas or maybe E85 if you get it tuned on that
