exhaust manifold/header clearance on 350?
exhaust manifold/header clearance on 350?
Will old style 350 manifolds have any clearance issues for my '91 camaro? I plan on swapping an older('70's model) 350 in place of the current 305. I heard that I would need a set of heads with holes in place to run 305 manifolds on the 350 block. True or False? Anyone have previous experience with this?

Although it might not be true in all cases, the most likely case is the 70's exhaust manifolds won't fit in the 3rd gen chassis.
It's also very likely that your 305 manifolds wouldn't be a very good match for the 350, anyway, from a performance perspective. And, the 70's 350 heads probably don't have the 7th exhaust manifold bolt hole for the passenger side.
Of course, the 70's 350 heads probably aren't anything to write home about, either. We'd need more details such as casting #'s to know about that.
Perfect time to upgrade to headers.
