First one I saw was back in 98 or 99. A funky colored green convertible camaro someone swapped everything from a TTA into. Motor, trans, rear and the complete interior. Which I thought was kind of cool because it gave him the stock boost guage.
Car was pretty ugly though.

(rwdtech) Dont knock what you dont know anything about,I'd like to take you for a ride in my 19 mpg 750rwhp 3.8 Buick V6 IROC. It might educate you a little.
As for your question , yes I and a few friends have done this swap and its not that hard. Go to www.turbobuick.com message board and scroll down to hybrids. you'll find ME and UR50SLO on there and others. we can help.
Sorry so rough on rwdtech , i just dont like it when someone puts down something they dont know anything about. I was just in central Indiana repairing hail damaged cars, you guys arent all that bad =)
Was just in Honolulu a few months back LOVED IT.

Re: Anybody ever put in a motor from a TTA into a camaro?
There are only 2 real differences between a TTA engine and GN engine. The cyl heads and engine mounts. The heads on TTA are FWD heads with center bolt valve covers they used them because they were narrower to allow the a/c compresser to fit by the stearing gear box. If a/c isnt a concern, you can upgrade to hiperf, heads. The engine and trans, mounts were custom made and you cant buy them new anymore. It makes the engine sit about 3'' to the front of the car. I used GN frame and engine mounts (also the same as any RegalV6 82-87) cause there more plentifull. I bolted the V6 to the 7004r and sat it down and bolted it to the frame and by doing that i discoverd it was 3'' to the rear, over a TTA. (Better weight transfer). I didnt need a/c so i bought a set of GN1s alum, heads , from someone over there in fact. Look us up at www.aaperformance.org you will see step by step how we did it good luck.

Whoever said it sounds like a waste of money obviously has zero experience with the turbo V6. I cant think of anyway to phrase what Im thinking without being totally rude so, as my Mom would tell me, Im not going to say anything at all.

Well, I had the V6 but couldnt get my hands on a GN tranny at the time. The 2004R in the GN & Monte SS are the ones to use. I did that just to break in the engine and see how the car was going to act. I had my built th400 onhand so I put it in shortly after break in.
