TPI question
hey guys, i bought a amazing beautiful 86' iroc for $250 with no motor in it, and im building a 350 small block from scratch.. im at my last step.. the intake.
I have the older style gen2 center bolt heads, all the intake bolts holes are on a 45 degree angle.
I bought a TPI setup off a 87 GTA on ebay, and im trying to figure out if all the bolt holes are on a 45 or if the center two need to be machined because i've heard that from some year to so on they were a different design.
Thanks!

Welcome aboard thirdgen.org.
Gen 2 is the LTx series of engines. Something tells me that's not what you meant.
The intake mount bolt angle is normally referred to as 90 degrees. From '87-up, the non-Vette intakes had the center two intake mount bolts on each side at 72 degrees. So, the intake base in that eBay set-up would have to be modified so those 4 center bolts will fit into the head.

Re: TPI question
I have a guy there figuring out what im going with, but if you have any opinions i would appreciate it.
This isnt going to be a strip/drag engine, i want basically an economical, smooth running.. but still get up n' git-r engine. kind of a mild taste.
also, the block is bored 4 thou' over if you come up with something.
Thanks.

Okay, im taking my heads to the machine shop once the intake comes, and ill have him bore the four middle holes to the correct diameter/angle.
Now, for the cam.. and good ideas for what i listed above?
Thanks!

Crane has a series of computer-compatible cams. Is your 350 block roller ('87-up), or non-roller ('86-earlier)?
More of a user than a seller. I signed up as a dealer so I could get the products at a lower price. I help out a few people who just want some now and then.

Re: TPI question
Yeah i know that the intake needs to be modded, but im getting the heads re-seated and one valve is concaived so he's hooking me up with a new pair of valves.. and while he's at it ill have him mod the intake to fit the heads correctly.
I found this cam, tell me what you think.. it says i need a fuel pressure regulator to use the cam with economy, is this true?
and the block is an 87-up roller style.
