My 305 tpi Makes a ticking sound help!

Hi my 305 tpi makes a ticking sound.I don't think it's the lifters becaust its coming form below the intake.Perhaps maybe the cam or sumtin need help please.

the lifters are below the intake

only other thing i can thing of is if you have a bad belt thats slightly torn and its hitting something as it goes around

Hmmm Ok so then they are the lifters .Also I felt a decrease in performance that it why right because the lifters ain't doing their job??

do the old technique of using a metal rod or extension or something and putting on your valve covers and putting your ear on the other end and you hopefully will be able to pin point the tick

Umm how much do you think it will run me to get it fixd.I have skills but I'd rather let a qualified person make it right and not me wondering if I did it right ??
