If it is a LT1 car then yes, motor mounts and bellhousing are the same. Ls1 is completely different though. Either way it will need the wiring done.

Re: 350 from third gen to fourth gen
why? Its like going backwards.
LT1's are better than TPI, just as LS1 is better than LT1. Though the difference between an LT1 and a L98 isn't that great in terms of technology there are still several advantages to them, higher flowing heads, an intake that only needs porting, sequential ignition instead of batch fire.
LS1 > TPI any day of the week, if you can pick up a LS1 cheap to swap it its worth every penny over a gen I/II sbc.

If you happen to have a V6 4th gen just find a LT1 and drivetrain, they are extremely cheap right now. 265hp+ in stock form and you can probably pick up an entire swap for under $1400 for an auto.

I've always assumed, and been told, that the distributor of a Gen I wouldn't clear the cowl of a fourth gen?

A small cap distributor should fit, but I wouldn't exactly want to try and put plug wires on it, very tight fit.

A TPI intake will not clear a 4th gens cowl and hood. I dont know about the distributor and/or a carb setup.

Re: 350 from third gen to fourth gen
The mounts are different, you need a Gen 1 swap tubular crossmember.
The distributor is gonna be a pain, accessory fitment, you could likely use an LT1 bracket and accessories with an electric water pump.
The real question is why would you make such a stupid move
1. 4th gen weighs more, slower at same power level.
2. 4th gen is much much harder to work on, the engine bay was just about built around the engine.
3. They are readily available with an engine that likely puts out more power than what you've got.
4. They never came carb'd, and you've prob got a carb'd engine, so you'll have to do a bunch of work in the fuel delivery department also.
