ok so i did the swap and i was originally going to go with the tbi...well to be exact im going to just when i get a little bit more money im low on funds. anyways im hard pressed to remember which wires from the distributor are the ones i use for power and tach...or can i use the stock 305 distributor i have most of the sensors hooked up i just dont have a egr valve right now and the tbi unit as the computer would need to be reprogrammed...so does anybody have an answer for this?

You can't use the stock TBI distributor, you need a non-computer one with mechanical advance.

ok with the older HEI distributor which wires am i supposed to use for the battery and tach wires for the HEI cap.is it the wires that are the pink and white plug that would goto the ignition coil or one of the wires that would goto the tbi distributor.
