Re: 1985-1991 vette engine

same motor with different heads and cam as the l98 that came in f-bodies. Don't know about the trans, you ask me its not worth the swap. But it should be pretty easy. if ur car is an auto some cutting may be neccesary but if you already have a manual it should be a direct swap. If I was going to go through all the trouble I'd do a LT1 or LS1 and a T56 6 speed.

Cutting for auto transmission???

'86-1/2 - up Vettes had aluminum heads, which didn't have the exhaust cross-over passage. Exhaust was plumbed up externally from the exhaust manifold to the EGR valve on the intake. Not a biggie.

Vette accessories and oil pan/oil pump pick-up won't fit. Transfer them over from your 305 (unless '85 Vette - your 1-piece rear main seal oil pan won't fit a 2-piece rear main seal block).

Vette transmission won't have torque arm mount.

No, cutting for the shifter to put a manual in if it's an auto now.
