305 roller?
there is a 91 bird in a local yard with a lo3 origional with low miles. is it a roller? is 150 worth the work of yanking it at the yard? i plan on using it for my tpi build. thanks

The block is the only thing "worth" anything. $150 is too much.
Don't you already have a 350? A 305 would be a downgrade.

i have a 3rd hand 350 .040 over with blow by. the lb9 i pulled out had more"*****" than this "357".

That would explain the lack of umph.
If the 350 only needed rings, it may be worth it to do the glaze breaker thing, new rings, new bearings, new cam & lifters. Probably has lame heads on it as well.
Many 350 blocks can be punched out to .060" over. A sonic check of the cylinder wall thickness would have to be money better spent than on a JY 305.

there is a 96 chevy truck with a vortec and a massive lower end knock. other than that, only 305's.

I'd pay $150 for a '96 Vortec 350 engine with a lower end knock in a heartbeat.
