So I made a 350 that made 510 hp/458 ft pd on the dyno, engine for under 3k,Using some new and used parts
I normally go early to swap meets, and find bargains. And some left over parts I had laying around,I dnt have a car to put this engine in,tho
It ended up being $2958,parts were 2,216 and labor was 742.
My dad helped me,and my uncle
Here's what I had to work with,

Valve Train: Comp cams 1.6 intake,1.5 exhaust, comp cams pushrods, springs and roller chain timing set.
Heads : 186 with full porting; 30- degree intake; angle milled bronze guides (265cfm @ 700 lift)
Intake: ported Victor jr. With 2 in spacer
Carb: reworked 750 Holley, with 850 base plate; 930cfm

Re: 510hp/458tq 350 for under 3k!!!!!
This reads suspiciously like an article in a magazine... Where they like to brag about getting parts used, "diamond in the rough" parts, machine work that came from a "friend of a friend" so it was dirt cheap... Then they brag about how it only cost xyz dollars. I have some colorful language for people like that you know. Why? Because it only angers the rest of us who DON'T know people who port cylinder heads for free, do CHEAP/FREE machine work, and are giving away nice parts. Good for you, the rest of us have to deal in the world where things aren't given to us. To me you're like a guy who won the lottery and bought a ferrari.
oh, PS - throw more info in that eh? what's the cams part number? what's the head flow at a realistic lift number, like .500"? What's the overbore? deck the block? line hone? which rockers, stamped, full roller, aluminum, etc? etc etc?
oh, and what are you going to do with a 12.2:1 engine anyway?!?
