Building a 383. Parts List?

Okay, Im trying to get a 383 built up from scratch, and installed into my trans am, by christmas time.

Parts I have:
.030 Pistons w/ Valve reliefs
.030 Rings
5.7 PM Rods

Parts On Order:
Assembly Lube
Hi-Vol Oil Pump
Timing chain Set
Plug Wires
Freeze Plugs

Parts I need to get:
383 Crank 2pc rms
Gasket Set
Bearing Set
Camshaft

Is anything missing from my lists?

What cam do I need to go with a 383, that will be daily driven? Im not above using summit or jegs brand items, as long as the quality is there. I would prefer a good cheap kit, that comes with the cam, and lifters.

Can someone please link me to some part #'s, that will work with my build?
Part #'s of things I need will be:

Cam Set
Bearings, 350 block, 383 crank, standard size
Valve Springs
Push rods

This is a Budget build, and I need all the help I can get, I greatly appreciate the help.

Federal Mogul 4663 main bearings, 1235 cam bearings and 2555 rod bearings. Use whatever springs the cam manufacturer recommends, and whatever pushrods you need for your heads after you've measured after assembly.

Aweome, Thanks alot.

Are these what your talking about?

Main- http://store.summitracing.com/partde...M&autoview=sku

Cam- http://store.summitracing.com/partde...M&autoview=sku

Rod- http://store.summitracing.com/partde...P&autoview=sku
^^^
When it says ''Sold Individually'' does that mean 2 pieces, for 1 rod, or one side of one rod, I dont want to order 8, to find out I need to order 16.

Do you have any suggestions on a cam/lifter combo I should get? Can I get away with a set of stock heads, with just some new springs?

Thanks so Much for your help.

"Sold individually" means both halves for one rod. Easier to get a set of 8 instead http://store.summitracing.com/partde...P&autoview=sku

You can't use those rods and those pistons to build a 383.

Re: Building a 383. Parts List?

Those are 350 pistons with a 1.54" comression height. With a 383 crank they're going to stick up out of the block and smack into the heads. You either need to use a 5.565" rod, or use a piston with a 1.4" compression height

Re: Building a 383. Parts List?

Oh.. Nobody ever told me that..

Well, I can't afford getting new rods or pistons, should I just go 355?

What are the Power gains between a 383, and a 355?

Have any Cam Reccomendations for a 355?

Re: Building a 383. Parts List?

Just get a 350 crank if you don't want to change rods or pistons.

Pick a cam that works well with the heads you'll be using.

Re: Building a 383. Parts List?

Ive got a couple different sets of heads. Ill just be using some stock 350 heads, will they suffice? What kind of work will have to go into them, Ide like 300-350 HP..
