so my tired old 2.8 multi kicked a rod out on christmas day (merry xmas!!!!!!), so its time for a swap. I guess im looking for some help and info. I have a carbed 305 engine ready to build in my parts car, and im building it-please do not send me comments or the usual negative crap about the 305-i know its not the same as a 350 and wont yield the same results, but keep in mind im on a tight budget and i already have the 305 in my yard.anyways, can you guys please help me out with some combos or links to info on what will be cheap and effective in squeezing some xtra juice from the little 305! my budget is roughly $1000.00(dont laugh)-what can i expect to get with that (rebuild costs included) as far as performance, and what will work as far as bang for the buck performance on that budget? any help is greatly appreciated!!!!!!

Well, I'll go ahead and be the jerk and say that I dont think there is any way you will make that swap with the budget that you have. If you already had a complete donor car with a perfect running engine and trans that would bolt in, you could probably pull it off. If you have to go into the engine, you are done with your budget more than likely. You cant reused the trans, you could reused the exhaust from cat back I guess, if you want to choke the hell out of it.
