305 tbi to 350 tpi
305 tbi to 350 tpi
What would i need to have to do a swap from a 305 tbi and a 350tpi? I have a 92 and the motor that is it is fine and runs good, but i just want to go bigger without swapping it to carburated.

Welcome aboard thirdgen.org.
The limitations of the factory TPI are the runners (too long and too narrow), base (porting helps), plenum (porting helps), and computer tuning. The 350 hardware is identical to the 305 hardware except injector size.
The "simple" route is to just put a 350 longblock under your TPI set-up and run it that way. However, the '92 system is speed density (aka, "MAP"), and is very sensitive to changes such as engine displacement, exhaust flow, cam duration, etc., so just putting a 350 in will require a 350 computer tune. You can get by with the 305 injectors as long as you dont do other things to increase power.
Which exhaust system do you have, single or dual cat? The single cat chokes a 305, so imagine what it would do to a 350. The dual cat is same 305 or 350.

The 350 would have to be compatible with the TPI. Meaning cam & heads, primarily.
If you found a 350 from an '87-'95 truck in good condition, you could put your 305 cam & lifters, heads, TPI, etc., on the shortblock. It should have decent power.
Most any "crate" 350 you'd find would cause the TPI problems.
