4 valve relief piston question

what is the point in the 4 valve relief piston if its in a 2 valve chevy motor? I never understood it but ppl seem t like it.

I've always thought it's just to make the install easier since you can't then put them in backwards?

So you can use the same pistons on both sides of the engine.
