See any problems wit a swap like this?

well heres my deal i got a 89 2.8 auto (253k on engine lol yay) i also have a 89 caprice wit a carbed 305 auto ( engine has 40k ), now if i were to do a swap , would there be any major lineing up issues with the tranny i know the v8 will go in no prob wit some tlc and v8 mounts but im just unsure about tranny oh and the driveshaft aswell just dont want to start tearing out that old hamster cage and come to a major hault , ive also tryed searching but to my success not to much about caprice swaps into camaros, there is prob a reason for that maybe ? but any info would be a great timesaver than crawling under both cars and measureing and the remeasuring again in the cold .thx for your time

I don't know if a V6 tranny will fit onto a V8. I know some bellhousing bolt patterns are different but don't know which ones.

The Caprice tranny will and will not work. The third gen torque arm mounts on the back of the transmission. A simple tailshaft housing swap may be all it needs or else you need to buy an aftermarket torque arm that mounts to a new transmission crossmember.

Transmission stays in the same position no matter which engine is in front of it so the driveshaft length stays the same as long as the 700R4 is replaced with a 700R4.

Right, the V6 tranny won't mount to the V8, but the V6 tranny tailshaft housing will swap over to the V8 tranny.
