okay after seeing my 5.0 formula sit for almost 2 years due to a heavily smoking engine, i've decided to start buying some parts for a 383 conversion. Since i work at an automotive parts store, i'm able to put whatever i want on "lay-a-way". Ive been looking at 383 rotating assembly kits from eagle specialty products. the part # is b13405e030. the Specs for this can be found here: http://store.summitracing.com/partde...0&autoview=sku
Im just curious if this is a good kit. it says that the kit is externally balanced. it comes with the harmonic balancer and flexplate. would an internally balanced kit be better??

What year is the block you'll be using? That kit has a 2-piece rear main seal. Internal balance seems to be more expensive in the 2-piece RMS kits, no sure why that is.
i'm going to be using a pre 1988 block with the 2 piece seal. i dont have one ready yet but finding one shouldnt be that hard.

Why are you going with a 2 peice block? just wondering.
no reason in particular. everything in the kit that i saw listed appealed to me and the 2 piece rear main wasn't really a big deal. its not like i'm going to be putting in an old seal into the engine while im putting it together. so i dont think i'll have any problems anytime soon with it leaking.
