intake swaps

Will the 305 TPI intake from my 85 T/A fit on a 305 TBI motor from an 89 camaro?

Not directly. The center two intake mount bolts on each side are at a different angle than the rest in '87-up engines, while the '86 engines had all of the bolts at the same angle.

You can modify the intake bolt holes so they fit the other type of heads.

is that just a matter of drilling them out or is it more complicated...this is my first time ever doing work like this so i have no clue

Elongating the holes. It could also be argued that the bolt hole face should be angled as well.
