Help engine wont start!

Car: 1986 pontiac firebird
Engine: 305 tbi
Transmission: 700r4
Axle/Gears: stock
Help engine wont start!
So i completely ruined my 305 (stock)lol so i swapped it out for another one with h.o heads roller rockers 1/4 lift cam..etc pushin alot more then the s**t one i had but anyway i remvoed the old one and put this one in everything is hooked up but when i go to start it,it wont start it turns over but doesnt want to catch. its almost like there isnt a spark so im completely lost..any ideas?

Step 1: Find out if it's getting spark.
Step 2: Find out if it's getting fuel.
Step 3: Find out if it's getting spark at the correct time and fuel in the correct amount.

its getting a spark i got it to sound like it was gonna start but it didnt and its getting fuel

i used the distributor from my old engine would that do anything seeing its a different cam?

No, nothing wrong with using the old distributor. As long as you got it aligned correctly.
Double check your firing order, distributor position, etc.

ok so i check all my wires,all tight, i checked my distributor wiring,all correct,brought the engine up to the number one cylinder set the distributor in so it is on number one,all vaccum lines are connected and its getting fuel but still nothing at all
