2.8mpfi swap for 350 L98 TPI

I have an 89 Firebird with a puny 2.8MPFI
I was told that I could drop in my L98 and run the TPI with the same computer. I should only have to change the Prom chips and plug in a new wire harness on the firewall??
Ive got all the mechanical stuff worked out.. Im just lost on the whole computer BullSh*t.. Any help greatly appreciated.

I'm pretty sure you will need a new computer and harness. The 350 has different sensors and more of them than the 2.8. The best thing to do is find a junk car with a good engine and computer with all the wiring harness and take it all. Either that or get a carb motor and take the computer out all together.

I am in the process of putting in an 88 IROC engine in my 85 camaro (previously a 2.8L). I purchased the engine/computer/wiring harness, 700R4 transmission, front springs, disk brake/posi rearend, etc. etc. etc. from the clapped out IROC. This has been a huge project but I have loved every minute of it. I hope to fire this dude up this winter sometime but I am still rebuilding/restoring. It has cost me a bunch of money most of which I will never get out of it. But....what the heck right?

You need to get a new computer altogether. V6-V8 swap can be a pain in the a$$. Oh, and, 2.8's=puny? I THINK NOT!!!!! Ha, ha, I could outrun 305's all day when I had my 89 RS.....those were the days........
