who knows how to make speedo work after engine swap?

After I ripped the CPU out of my 92 bird and swapped in a 350, the speedo hasn't worked. Are there any ways to make it work or do I just have to get a new gauge?

I'm not familiar with the 92's but my 89' has it's speedo work from the trans, so when I ripped my computer out it didn't have any affect on the speedo. I know the 92's have the electronic 700R4 that has the ECM shift the trans, so that may be difference....

Removed my ECM, speedo still works fine. You must've pulled the entire harness out as well. You should be able to get a wiring diagram to wire it back up. I believe it's electronic.

1992s do not have an electronic transmission. However, 1992s do have VSS which requires an ECM to receive the electronic signal and sends it to the speedo. Your options are either to hook up the ECM for the VSS or convert to a manual speedo. I would suspect your tach doesn't work either.

No, my Tach still works. Some of my other gauges don't work either, like the fuel, and the think that the temp gauge is off. what a pain in the *** . I will probably end up getting all new gauges.

My 91rs has a 79 359 and no computer the spedo has it's own computer and it should work fine unless you pulled the wires out completly it should be two wires i think mine were purple and yello but if you get it hooked up right it should work.
