My question is what do i have to change for this combination to work I know i have to change the fuel pump can i stay with the stock fuel lines does anyone know what size is the rearend for the v-6 i know its a 10 bolt and also what gears were given in 92 to v-6 motors thanks

Hey dood, sounds like a lot of us 3rd gen v6ers are going to the dark side. My 92RS has 3.23 rear gears. I know of a few things you will have to change. The throttle cable, front springs, wiring harness, chip inside computer (70 bucks at GM dealer), and you might have to go to the dual fan setup for the radiator if it overheats. To make the tachometer work right you can get the chip that goes inside the instrument cluster, or you can change the entire gauge cluster out and find one from a 91-92 Z28. I changed out the chip until I found a whole cluster and it was easy as pie. As for everything else I have no clue, I am in the process as we speak. However, I pray I don't have to change the fuel pump for the 350 thats going into mine!

Ok here goes. I've done this change. I don't remember if you said you were going from a Firebird to a Camero or a Camero to a Firebird. Either can be done but it makes the job harder. If you are doning a Camero to Camero swap or a Firebird to Firebird swap you will need to move your motor mounts. the v6 mounts will work but they are in the wrong location. You will need to change the fuel lines the v6 and v8 lines run on oppsite sides, atleast they did on mine. As for the parts for the trans swap I hope you have a complete car you need a lot. The pedals, slave and master cylinder, transmission bell housing flywheel and clutch, you might need the starter and you will need a new chip for the computer. If you are doing the work yourself and you have all of the parts its not that bad just time consuming. If you are paying to have it done sell the car and buy a v8 5speed car and be done with it.
