MOTOR SWAP

I have a '92 RS with a 305 TB and 700R4. I've made many exhaust, suspension and rearend improvements to get it ready for the additional horsepower and torque I'll get from a 383 I'm building from a '91 L98 vette block. The 383 will have TPI, an oil cooler and utilize the existing Edelbrock headers.
What swap-out problems will I run in to (i.e. interference from engine stand to engine compartment, front accessories (everything touching the serpentine belt) and brackets swapped from the 305 to the 350-(L98) block)?
Also, I have not purchased a chip yet. Any suggestions?

You should have no problems whatsoever. The external dimensions, bolt patterns, etc. are identical between the 305 and 350. You may have accessory problems relating to the TBI to TPI swap, but not related to the block swap. Yo uwill of course need a different fuel pump since the TBI pump is designed to put out 12 psi or so, and the TPI requires 40-50 psi.

I think as long as you unbolt the engine from the stand before you put it in the engine compartment, you won't have interference from it.

Thanks for your reassuring reply.
I did purchased a fuel pump from Summit that will generously feed the TPIS "Big Mouth" intake, large throttle body and large runner setup I purchased. I'll use the TPI accessories parts that came with the L98 TPI. I also purchased injectors that will accommodate the "strokers" fuel needs. Fuels not the problem, air is. Hello Nitrous?
But, you don't foresee any problems moving the alternator, steering pump, etc. from one block to the other?

P.S. I'll try to remember to unbolt the engine stand first.

You might want to take a look through recent posts that talk about flex plate/flywheel starter issues with externally balanced 383's.
