'89 2.8 wiring for ZZ4 HEI
'89 2.8 wiring for ZZ4 HEI
I've been tinkering on my '89 Firebird for the last 2 years turning it into a high performance street car.
My question is related to properly wiring up my distributor. I'm installing the distributor that came with my ZZ4 and also using an MSD 6A box and Blaster II coil. What wire would be most appropriate for the switched power lead for the MDS box? I assume it's one of the original wires that connected to the factory distributor.
Also, which of the factory leads is my tachometer gauge driver signal? Can I simply plug that wire into the tachnometer output from the MSD box? I don't want to trash my tach by hooking up a 12 volt supply if it was supposed to be 5 volts or something like that. A buddy of mine already recalibrated my tach from 100 rpm to 8000 rpm using a variable pulse generator so that's not a problem (in fact, it's so highly accurate now through that entire range it's amazing!).
Thanks!
