motor mounts

i was wondering if there will be a problem putting a big block pontiac in an 86 t/a. I know the motor mounts are the same for small and big block chevy's, but is this the case for pontiacs as well?
thanx

No, Pontiac motors are altogether different from Chevy motors. Somebody might make a mount to do that swap, otherwise you'd have to fab something. Then there's exhaust; and f course the trans bolt pattern is different, so you'd have to get a different trans or a motor plate or something.

Get a good look at a pontiac engine in a Pontiac. Chances are the third gen crossmember is drilled for the mounts already. Get them from a later model Pontiac, like a 301 Grand Prix, 78 - 81 or so, or a Bonneville, or a Firebird like a 79.
