85 camaro rs heart transplant

Before I get started asking stupid questions I just want to say hi to everyone and let you know that I am new to the Camaro scene and new to TGO. I recently purchased an 85 Camaro RS with a 400 small block and a 700R4 tansmission. I fell in love with the car when i saw it (except the rims...what were they thinking?). Anyway the motor was weak and after about 50 miles I spun the main bearings and trashed the block. Well I have a good 350 in my shop that I can stroke to a 383 (2 bolt mains, 882 heads, bored .030 over) or a buddy of mine has an LT1 that I can buy and stroke. Nothing is fuel injected. I am looking for the best bang for the buck and looking for suggestions so please shoot me some ideas. Thanks.

There's something wrong there. There was no RS model in '85.

That is extremely subjective. But, for pulling the 400 out and putting something else back in, that would probably be the 383.

The car has RS badging on it and the title says 85. Is there something else I should be looking for?

Verify it isn't a salvage VIN swap.

Re: 85 camaro rs heart transplant

LT1 heads should far outperform 882 heads, but get us some casting numbers so we can be sure exactly what heads are on the "LT1"
