Re: 400 swap problems

I have a 400 small block w/168 flywheel and stock bbc starter with headers (short) there is lots of room. I had long tube headers for a long time but they rusted away(lots of room). I have a 700r4 trans. Only thing is the starter has to be installed or removed with the header removed.

Re: 400 swap problems

Flywheel/flexplate has to be counterweighted 400 SBC unit.....unless you've internally balanced the engine. Starter is relevent to the 400 flywheel/flexplate. The engine is the same externally and should fit with out problems.
