wanting a new engine
i am not sure if this is the right forum, but i really need information and advice on where to get one. it really doesnt have to be a brand new one, money kinda restricts me from buying too expensive.
also, which would be good for my 84 bird. i have a 305 presently and would rather have something bigger, but then again, mines not too good, so even a better 305 would be good. is replacing a 305 for a 305 good? or not even worth it, even if the motor i have isnt doing to good?
I am completely lost on what to do, so even some "out-of-the-blue" advice on what to do or how to start would be GREAT. thanks!

Look into a 350 - if you're going through the trouble of swapping, might as well get your money's worth - a 350 is tons more fun, even with 70's smog heads and no added goodies. All your 305 accessories will bolt right on (assuming you get 350 heads with accessory holes in them). To me, spending all that time/energy for another 305 is kinda pointless.
