I've been eyeing that 330 hp crate engine for a long time now, and was wondering if it will actually fit behind the stock T-5 which will have to be changed to a T-56 probably shortly thereafter.

I would recommend putting it ahead of the T5...

Yes, fit it will. You'll need to insure you have the correct flywheel for the rear main seal type. Otherwise, happy fitting!


P.S.: You're sure making me feel good about my 130k miles LG4's best of 16.71 at 5800' Bandimere in a breakout run (I was backing off). That was with 3.08 open, otherwise mods listed that have actually been accomplished.

I know, its kind of embarrasing, i think my clutch is slipping.

 

87 and up had the one piece rear main and so does the 330ho engine. You should have no problems bolting it but I would definatly get a new clutch too. The t-5 isn't exactly the strongest trans either, GM wouldn't even put a 350 with one if that says anything. Just be careful with it and don't be dumping the clutch too often.
