Build or buy?

Should i buy a block and rebuild a 350/355 or buy a crate motor from GM Performance? Should I use the TPI or carb.? Will i get anymore power outta one or the other? I want atleast 350HP. Which would be better/Cheaper? Thanks Justin

Crate motors are sweet & easy with a guarantee (usually). Good machine shops are expensive and won't guarantee it if you put it together (usually) or at all if they did (sometimes). If you figure all the labor time you put into it a crate looks like a good deal. Unless you have a lot of time on your hands and alot of specialty tools already purchased.

I'm split down the middle but leaning towards crate power.
