Does this swap allow you to use the stock ECM? How much will the swap cost?

The crate engine is ~$4500. It comes complete with a new ecm and everyhting else you'd need to get her cranking, even it's own diagnostic tool. Add the serpintine accsesories from a 88-92 fbody donor, a high preasure fuel pump, a dipstick tube, and a means of controling your trans(auto) and your almost ready to go. Not to tuff if you consider most of our cars already have these things from the factory. Dyno charts for this thing show 370 ft. lbs. coming in at a mear 1600 rpms and it maxing out at only 30 more. How's that for a broad flat torque curve to send your local mudstain back to its mother's tit! I'm planning for one in my '87 Iroc this spring. I have a digi-cam and am going to document the whole thing for my own personal refrence, mabye some day I'll want my car back to perfectly stock condition. I might talk to the moderators about setting up a tech article for it. I'll keep you guys posted when progress begins.

No, you cannot use the stock ecm. The Ramjet comes with its own ecm and is designed around pre-emission vehicles.

Not sure what you have to do if you have a locking TCC as is on the 700R4/4L60. I don't think the RamJet uses a VSS or control for the TCC. Again, it was designed for pre-emissions vehicles.

There are no computer provisions for an auto tranny with the ramjet ecm. Not a problem though, get a lock-up kit from say B&M that engages the tc lock-up when you're in OD and the proper vacuum is reached. Then hook the TV cable that comes off your tranny up to the new throttle control off the tb on the rj and your tranny's as snug as a bug in a rug. This is just like what you have to do to run a carb in a OE FI 700R4 tranny car. For more on this see the carb swaping article in the tech area.
