LS1 Heads

Hi I wanted to ask a quetion on the cc of LS1 heads it is just that I am buying a short block from this guy and he says that with 67cc heads compresion will be 10.0:1 and with 76cc it will be 9.5:1 I just wanted to know what the cc is for that reason and also will the tpi work for a engine with over 400hp I am going to get it ported and everything bigger injectors pressure regulator and probably a better fuel pump too but would it work. Also would I need to have a custom chip or is there a decent chip already made
Thanks
Matt

Did you say LS1 heads? I hope you realize that the LS1 is a totally different motor than a standard small block. The LS1 heads will ONLY bolt up to a LS1 Block.

If you plan on putting an LS1 in your 3rd gen, I hope you have a pretty fat wad of cash and a whole lot of time/patients. I heard this is a very time/money consuming project to get an LS1 installed in a car like yours. Different motor mounts, totally different wiring harnass, different style fuel pump, oh yeah and if you have a manual tranny you will need an LS1 manual tranny to work. A standard t-56 will not, repeat WILL NOT bolt onto an LS1.

Why mess with all that crap when you could build a small block like a 383, run a mini ram fuel injection system, and spank an LS1!??!!?!

Dude if you get a LS1 head to bolt to a 1972 350, Your a animal... a 1972 350 is a GEN1 engine a 1998 to 2001 LS1 is a GEN3 engine, the only thing these engines have in common is the name chevy and I think the oiling system.. Kevin

No, they wont bolt up. The head bolt arrangement on the LS1 heads is totally different, they use 4 around each cylinder rather than the 5 used on the typical SBC. Basically the bolts would line up real well with the water ports in your 350 block.
