Odd engine swap, any insight?

I have a 1978 olds 350 and a turbo 350 trans. I want to put this set up in a 1984 trans am. the trans am body was a v8 with a manual trans. some people say it will bolt right in, others say no way. anyone know the correct answer? most people say it won't bolt in because of the placement of the engine mounts. if this is true, is it because of the length of the drive shaft? Any insight will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

there isn't any way it'll "bolt right in" the 350 olds is entirely differant than a SBC. it may fit and it may work but you'll be in for a lot of work and run into problems with the ecm and sensers for sure, as well as the exhaust. the trans might also have differant splines on the output so you'd have to get the yoke changed on your drive shaft.
