oil pan swap on 502 ram jet...
I need to change my oil pan because I am having some clearance issues... I want to drop the car 2" but there is no room... My stock oil pan is 6 quarts and has a depth of 9-1/2" I want to use a shorter pan but What about the sump and the other things... Should change them too, If so can you suggest the required parts for 502 ram jet (50 psi idle) I was think of this pan...
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/CTR-15-240T/ with 7" depth and Maximum Stroke with OE Rod: 3.875"
it says that they are for small blocks, Is there any way to put small block oil pan to big block? or should this be ok:
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/MI...5/?image=large (will this work with my stock sump and pick up )
this is the shortes one with big block option...
Can you help me out...
Thanks everyone...

What Generation Block is it? and most likely if you change the depth of the sump you will have to change or modify the oil pick up tube.

It is a gen V block. Should I cahnge the pump too? Or only the pick up is enough for the swap?

The pan has nothing to do with oil volume or pressure, but however much depth change you do with the pan you need to do to the pump pick up as well, any machince shop shop should be able to hook you up if you tell them what the difference is in the sump
