Good score for a 305 TPI upgrade???
My buddy gave me a 350 engine pulled from a 88 Blazer for free! My question is will I be able to make this work in my 86 T/A that currently has a 305 TPI? I want to step up the cubes and keep the TPI if possible. Will I need anything else?? If I can get this running, the next thing is a homemade rearmount turbo!!!!! HELP????

Other than the Blazer engine having '87-up heads with the different intake mount bolt pattern, not a problem.
You could probably find someone who would be willing to trade their '87-up TPI base for your '86-earlier TPI base. Or, upgrade to an Edlebrock '87-up base. Or, modify the mount bolt holes in your '86 305 base.
350 knock sensor & module (which the Blazer should have) and 22 lb injectors would be good things to have. Use your 305 flexplate and starter.

Re: Good score for a 305 TPI upgrade???
So the 88 block is a good foundation? I have been nervous about the differences in rear seal, etc. I realize I am in the funk of transitions, etc. I am just looking for a good start for a 350 build. THANKS!!!!!!!!

'86 was the first year of the one-piece rear main seal, so if your car has an '86 or later engine, it would be one-piece.
It isn't that big of a deal, though. I do like/prefer the one-piece design.
